five sneaker trends that feel effortlessly cool for 2025.
add a little pep in your step this winter.
I don’t know about you, but i’m in desperate need of a sneaker refresh. I’ve talked before about trainers being my shoe of choice - I wear them 95% of the time, not only for their comfort but also because they can really transform an outfit. Trainers are the perfect colorful, personality-filled addition to your closet.
2025 sneaker trends are in full swing even though we’ve (just barely) made it to February. There are so many options i’m eyeing - samba’s were the trainer of 2024, and although I don’t think they are going anywhere in 2025, some fun new trainers have definitely entered the ring. These sneaker trends deserve a spot in your closet. Join me, back into the sneaker rabbit hole!
keep it neutral
I’ve never been a black sneaker purchaser, but some of these picks have me thinking that I should be. I’ve seen the adidas taekwondo sneakers as a predicted trend, but those look exactly like my middle school soccer cleats - maybe thats the point? These samba’s with a elongated tongue are much more my speed, adding some interesting flair but don’t look like I found them going through my childhood bedroom. I love the details on the new adidas country og’s and these new salomons are calling my name. Wide range of price points, with splurge-worthy trainers from dries van noten or a $86 find from marks and spencer. If you’re in need of a new neutral in your closet, these are my top ticks!

silver metallics
I love this trend, it screams cool and these picks are the perfect elevation to any outfit. Everything from chunky trainers like the nike p-6000 (my favorite) or the new balance 1096r to sleek trainers like the adidas country og with maroon details or the alohas Tb.490 which adds a gummy sole into the mix. Add to cart!

all of the color
This is where we really shine - why go neutral when you can add a pop of unexpected color to your outfit? I want them all. I’ve heard the onitsuka tiger mexico 66’s are the most comfortable trainer on the market, so these are an obvious choice. Puma has entered the ring with the speedcat, fenty avantis (I love the interesting sole detail) or a little less-bright with the palermo CCCs. Sambas always have great color choices, but i’m specifically loving this pop of leopard or court green. So many options, but these are absolutely on trend picks.

get your steps in
We see gore-text popping up more and more, with salomon leading the way. Gore-tex focuses on a waterproof, windproof, and breathable fabric technology used in outdoor gear. These shoes tend to have a chunky sole and honestly are probably the most comfortable on the trend list. I think this is fun as it adds something unexpected to your outfit. This pair from merrell is such a fun color way or I’ve loved the black coffee salomons since they released. Get your steps in with these choices.
customization
Want to add some fun to trainers you already have or dress up a new purchase? Find a charm and pin pack you like, like these or these. Or add some unexpected color with new laces, etsy has so many options. I personally like the simple charms, as they are just the right amount of personalization and customization.
Hope this sparked some trainer inspiration and you found a fun new addition to your closet. Shoes are a great little way to add some brightness to your outfit and day - I think we could all use a bit of that right now.

I feel my coolest when I'm in my sneaks! I'm typically a neutral gal, but I keep feeling pulled to fun colors. Loved this round up!
