howdy!
I know we all feel it, but man was January a long month. I had every intention of starting this at the beginning of the year, but here we are and honestly it is probably for the best. This week I made it through the craziest project of my career thus far and my 32nd birthday. What a better time to take a beat!
The past few months, especially January, the only thing I’ve prioritized is my 9-5 (which has actually been by 7-9 + holidays + weekends due to the project noted above). We love a good grind, but I’ve been going through the most mundane motions of my life. I made it to the other side and it’s time to listen to the consistent, nagging voice in my head thats pushing me to prioritize what makes me feel good.
I think Substack has been my most used “social media” lately - likely the millennial in me, but this is like old school blogging and I love seeing this kind of content from my favorite creators and finding new favorites to follow. I’ve found this platform to be so enjoyable vs. getting blasted with 65 tiktoks in a row.
So, hi! Welcome to my mini musings on the latest things providing inspiration + noteworthy obsessions from a designer looking to find joy in her after hours. Let’s start with some good things.
things I want.
wish me luck denim jacket: I have one of the leather jackets from a previous drop and its one of the nicest quality pieces in my closet. Their new denim piece has been calling my name (the silver studs! the corduroy!), but I haven’t pulled the trigger yet.
cos mohair tank: So cute to dress up or down and love the bright red.
smeg coffee maker: My husband makes me the best pour over coffees on the weekends and I dream about it every day, so I’ve been pondering a change-up from my nespresso. This thing is so aesthetically pleasing, but does it make a good cup of coffee? Comment if you have some intel for me!
source unknown sweater: Obsessed with this cut and color and may need to join the pre-order list. Source unknown is always a vibe.
oversized denim: How oversized is too oversized? Does the limit exist?
things on my mind.
We know silver is in and with that, studded belts are having their moment. IYKYK the khatie studded belt I’m talkin’ about. I’m a bit over the studs, but am loving some of these more classic alternatives.
I recently did a mocktail taste off with my friend to see what the hype was all about with some popular brands. Ghia! You need it! When I tell you they were so good and can only imagine how yummy they would be as a mixer. Run to your local Target and grab the le spritz variety pack, lord knows I am stocking up.
Allison Roman opened a grocery story called First Bloom Corner Store in Bloomville, NY and it looks like a dream. Who knew I’d be adding Bloomville to my travel destination list for 2024.
I’ve followed Carly Kuhn from afar on instagram, loving her doodles. She recently launched wallpaper and I just love how how our creative passions really can take us anywhere. Some of them would be so perfect in a nursery or kids room.
I got this amazing diptyque paris candle for my birthday in their signature scent, 34 boulevard saint-germain. Dare I say this scent is better than anything le labo?
